Mrs Louise Lont
is passionate about education. Her educational philosophy is based on an uncompromising belief that students can learn when given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family.
Since graduating Deakin University in 1994, Mrs Lont has engaged in various educational experiences. These experiences have afforded her many opportunities to collaborate with like-minded educators whose common goal is to increase student achievement and well-being, and this goal drives her focus as principal of PVS.
While Mrs Lont has had many memorable years in the teaching profession, the role of principal is equally as rewarding. Mrs Lont feels privileged to be working alongside such a dedicated team of caring professionals, and to be surrounded by such wonderful students and families.
Mrs Lont is looking forward to the future as she continues to forge even stronger relationships with the school community as a whole.
Meet Our Teachers
Is a dedicated member of the PVS teaching team who thoroughly enjoys being a part of our students’ learning journey. Mr Rowlingson is passionate about integrated inquiry-based learning and savvy digital technology skill teaching. He thoroughly enjoys providing a participatory environment where students are able to attach interests to learning outcomes. Mr Rowlingson loves inspiring students through STEAM subjects and firmly believes in connecting student learning to real world applications.
Mr Rowlingson completed his Graduate Diploma in Primary Education at Edith Cowan University. He is an invested and enthusiastic middle and upper primary teacher who himself loves learning and because of this is currently undertaking his Master of Education.
Has been in education since 2011. After completing a Bachelor of Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, he decided to complete a Diploma of Education to become a primary school teacher. Mr Keshwar has experience in both middle and upper primary and thoroughly enjoys teaching these age groups.
Mr Keshwar is an invested teacher who is extremely supportive of his students. He thoroughly enjoys seeing them grow, develop and flourish as lifelong learners. Adam is passionate about enabling students to realise their potential. Aside from teaching in the classroom, he enjoys bringing his expertise in fields such as music, chess and sport to enrich the lives of students at PVS.
Is an experienced educator with both a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and a Bachelor of Education (Primary), specialising in working with children with special needs. Mrs Pashen is a passionate advocate for Early Years Education and quality play-based programs for young children.
Mrs Pashen has taught across the Early Years, in educational support, and held numerous leadership positions since 2001 and currently teaches Pre-Primary. She has been a nominee for the NEITA Awards for Excellence in Teaching and firmly believes that her role as an educator is to inspire her students to develop a love of learning, to face challenges with enthusiasm and to have a strong sense of belief in themselves to achieve their unique potential.
Has a Certificate III in Educational Support as well as a Certificate in Child Care, and has been a part of the PVS team since 2008. Mrs Thomas has predominantly worked in the junior years and early years.
Mrs Thomas is an extremely caring, fun, and passionate person who brings a radiant smile and an unbeatable enthusiasm with her to school each day. Mrs Thomas’ care is appreciated by our families, and because of this was nominated by a PVS parent for the AISWA Teaching award in 2010. Mrs Thomas is a passionate advocate for young children learning through structured play and assists the classroom teacher to create the loving, caring, fun-filled environment that PVS is renowned for.
Is a dedicated primary teacher. Before embarking on a teaching career, Mrs Rowe attained a Bachelor Degree in Performing Arts and worked in theatre locally, in NSW, and in the United States. It was while working in Children’s Theatre in New York that Ruhama discovered her love of education, and returned to Australia to attain her Graduate Diploma in Education.
Since her arrival in 2013, Mrs Rowe has been our school Performing Arts guru, and is passionate about school productions and drama clubs. Mrs Rowe has found that she is always learning too and finds joy in the everyday discoveries and successes of her students. She loves reading and shares her love of books with her students, finding special enjoyment in writing and reading lessons.
Holds a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) with experience in a variety of educational settings and ages. Emily is passionate about early learning, and the importance of laying down solid learning foundations that will last a lifetime. She places great value on nurturing the natural inquisitiveness of our student’s young minds, and understands the importance of encouraging curiosity and independent thinking.
Miss Pryce joined the Pioneer Village teaching staff in 2017, and has quickly become a valuable member of staff. Miss Pryce believes the unique teaching and learning community and the strong sense of family at PVS contributes to feelings of support and value for staff and students alike. This makes it a wonderful place to learn and teach.
Is the PVS music specialist. She holds a Diploma of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Political Theory. She has pursued studies in classical guitar, puppetry and acting, and is passionate about integrating these areas into her lessons.
After travelling Australia as an actor, storyteller and teacher she studied Kodaly, Dalcroze, Orff, and Suzuki music pedagogies. These learning experiences have cemented her belief that these are superior strategies that best develop students’ singing, movement, listening and instrumental skills, and will ultimately expand students’ creativity. She has many years of experience in a wide range of educational institutions and is enjoying being part of a school with such a strong focus on excellence and student well-being.
Completed a Certificate III and IV in Education Support has worked in the PVS Early Years classes since 2010. It was through a choice to volunteer in coaching roles for his own children’s sporting pursuits that prompted Mr Dickerson to pursue a more challenging, and most rewarding career in Primary Education.
Mr Dickerson is a dedicated, caring Education Assistant with a terrific work ethic, and a fantastic sense of humour. He relishes his role as EA as it helps to alleviate the immense workload undertaken by teachers to educate young minds. Ray epitomises the PVS values of respect, integrity, fairness, perseverance and aiming for excellence. Watching students improve before his eyes, and knowing he has contributed gives him great satisfaction and a sense of purpose to his life.
Is our dedicated Library Officer and Education Assistant. Mrs Payne has been a staff member at Pioneer Village School since 2018 and is enjoying working with the students and the dedicated staff.
Mrs Payne believes the school library is integral to the teaching and learning process. With exceptional organisational skills, Mrs Payne has implemented many practices that assist the students and staff during library time. With a love of reading and an attitude for success, working at PVS has not only been a privilege for Mrs Payne was what inspired her to expand her knowledge and study her Certificate III in Education Support.
Mrs Patrice Gandy completed a Graduate Diploma in Primary Studies at Murdoch University in 2015, and then a Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Studies at Edith Cowan University in 2016. Mrs. Gandy has experience in a variety of roles from classroom teaching, Family Day Care and Community Kindergartens. Mrs Gandy’s teaching focuses on developing social and emotional learning where children are provided opportunities to develop their creativity, autonomy, persistence, and resilience through hands on learning and guided play-based experiences.
Mrs Emma Gill completed a Bachelor of Education specialising in Early Childhood Education at Curtin University in 2009. She has worked across all junior years since joining PVS in 2010. Mrs Emma Gill is passionate about quality play-based programs for Early Years’ students, and constantly delivers learning experiences that ignite and foster children’s natural curiosity of the world. PVS is a place where she feels she can continue to grow as a professional and nurture the children in our school community to learn and grow.
Miss Safaa Khalil is currently at Murdoch University studying an Early Childhood and Primary Teaching Degree. Miss Khalil is bi-lingual in English and Tigrinya and has been working in Early Childhood Education for approximately 3 years. Miss Khalil is looking forward to contributing to the start of our students’ educational journeys, igniting their love for leaning and continuing to build meaningful and positive relationships across the children, parents, and staff at Little Pioneers. We are very excited to welcome her to Kindy 3.
In 2021 Miss Madeline Marsh completed her Certificate III and IV in Education Support, and is very passionate about assisting students to expand their knowledge and love for learning in a supportive environment. Miss Marsh has been a passionate dancer since the age of 3, teaches dance part-time at a dance studio, and loves sharing dance skills with our students. Miss Marsh loves teaching her students skills and strategies that enable them to become strong in both their physical learning, as well as their emotional wellbeing.
Miss Miranda Parkinson is in her second year at university working towards completing her Early Childhood and Primary Teaching Degree. She loves working at Pioneer Village School as it places her in a position that allows her to both contribute to our children’s learning, while also further developing her skills as an educator and as a future teacher. She is proud to have been a part of Little Pioneers since it opened, and loves being able to support our students to achieve their best.
Miss Sarah Pledger holds a Diploma in Children Services. She has over 15 years’ experience in the Early Childhood sector, with the last 10 years spent as Lead Educator at a thriving Community Kindergarten. Miss Pledger has a passion for play-lead learning which includes hands-on and real-life experiences. Building strong and respectful relationships with children and their families is very important to Miss Pledger. This is because she believes this to be the foundation that best supports children’s development and learning.
Mrs Kelly Reynolds graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in the USA with a Bachelor Degree in Child and Family Studies, specialising in Early Childhood Development. Mrs Reynolds is a passionate advocate for Early Childhood education and understands the importance of providing learning opportunities designed to emphasise the development of the whole child; socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and creatively.
