Dear Parents and Guardians,
At Pioneer Village School, we strive to provide an education that meets the needs of all children. We offer a wide and varied curriculum taught by enthusiastic, talented staff. Our goal is to have all our students fulfil their potential regardless of their starting point. With this in mind, we endeavour to provide best-practice, differentiated programmes that meet the needs of all individuals.
When appointing staff, our highest priority is to find teachers who have a passion for teaching, who love working with children, and epitomise the PVS Values of Respect, Excellence, Fairness, Perseverance and Integrity. Our students’ emotional wellbeing is our first priority and we know that children need to feel safe, happy, and valued by their teachers, so that quality learning can take place.
Pioneer Village School is a positive and supportive community. Positivity ensures the growth of our students’ sense of well-being. It also develops their ability to celebrate not only their own, but the achievements of others. This attitude is reinforced by our Values Curriculum which underpins all we do.
Great emphasis is placed on the key learning areas of English and Mathematics. We acknowledge that without a solid understanding in these subjects, students’ learning in other areas is compromised. We comply with the Western Australian Curriculum and provide learning in all STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) subjects, as well as HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences), Languages, and Health and Physical Education.
We believe that academic success alone is not enough to meet the needs of today’s students and therefore strongly encourage involvement in The Arts and sports. Involvement in these subjects further allows student opportunity to collaborate, communicate, critically reflect, and to be creative. Students of today’s world will need a firm handle on these skills to express themselves in the future.
We have a spacious, picturesque environment situated at the foothills of the Darling Ranges in Armadale. Students have ample space to play and a large oval to partake in sporting events.
Pioneer Village School is big enough to provide a variety of learning opportunities, but at the same time, is small enough to ensure we know all of our children. Our students learn in predominantly multi-age groupings and we pride ourselves on the education and experiences we are able to provide our students.
I look forward to meeting you.
