Dear Parents and Guardians,
At Pioneer Village School, we strive to provide an education that meets the needs of all children. Our goal is to have all our students fulfil their potential – regardless of their starting point. With this in mind, we endeavour to provide best-practice, differentiated programs that meet the needs of all individuals.
When appointing staff, our highest priority is to find teachers who have a passion for teaching, who love working with children, and epitomise the PVS Values of Respect, Excellence, Fairness, Perseverance and Integrity. Our students’ emotional wellbeing is our first priority and we know that children need to feel safe, happy, and valued by their teachers, so that quality learning can take place. This is why we’re proud to offer a wide and varied curriculum taught by enthusiastic and talented staff.
When you join our community, you’ll find that Pioneer Village School is a positive and supportive one. Positivity ensures the growth of our students’ sense of well-being. It also develops their ability to celebrate not only their own, but the achievements of others.
Great emphasis is placed on the key learning areas of English and Mathematics. We acknowledge that without a solid understanding in these subjects, students’ learning in other areas is compromised. We comply with the Western Australian Curriculum and provide learning in all STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) subjects, as well as HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences), Languages, and Health and Physical Education.
However, we believe that academic success alone is not enough to meet the needs of today’s students and therefore strongly encourage involvement in The Arts and sports. Involvement in these subjects further allows students the opportunity to collaborate, communicate, critically reflect, and to be creative. Students of today’s world will need a firm handle on these skills to express themselves in the future.
We have a spacious, picturesque environment situated at the foothills of the Darling Ranges in Armadale. Our students have ample space to play and a large oval to participate in sporting events.
Pioneer Village School is big enough to provide a variety of learning opportunities, but at the same time, is small enough to ensure we know all of our children. Our students learn in predominantly multi-age groupings and we pride ourselves on the education and experiences we are able to provide our students.
I would love to welcome you to take a tour of the school with me or simply get in touch to learn more about us.
Pioneer Village School
Pioneer Village School embraces traditional values while incorporating modern best-practice and individualised learning approaches to ensure all students are supported to succeed.
Our vision will be realised through a caring, inclusive culture where excellence in education inspires a love of learning and supports students to achieve their goals.
Pioneer Village School is a private school where both parents and teachers are proud to share in its ownership. We work together to provide a safe, caring and educationally stimulating environment so our children can gain the confidence to develop their skills and reach their full potential.
At Pioneer Village School we value Excellence, Respect, Fairness, Integrity and Perseverance. We acknowledge these values daily and expect our whole community to embrace them. Our school Motto is – “Aim For Excellence”. We believe that aiming for excellence in every program we offer is essential to providing an outstanding environment for learning, allowing all children opportunity and encouragement to reach their potential.
In addition to our core curriculum, we provide specialist learning programs in the areas of Arts, Language, and Sport. We also support students in their learning through targeted education support, and gifted and talented programs.
We offer a variety of after school opportunities, and encourage children to continue learning and consolidating certain skills in a fun and relaxed environment.
Throughout our curriculum, and by way of positive role modelling and working closely with families, we endeavour to instill in our students positive social values that will enable them to become successful, supportive and caring members of our society.
It takes a village.
In the tranquil surrounds of our ‘village’, students are educated through targeted teaching and up-to-date educational practices that ensure our students get the very best from their primary school years.
